Wedding Photography: Your Simple Guide in Making Your Wedding Photos Last a Long Time

By Juhlin Youlein

We keep our photos in different places. We may not display them nor put them all in wonderful frames but we make sure we keep them in safe places. As much as possible, we want to have them in their best possible conditions when we look back at them in time. Of course, we cannot avoid their fading but our goal in keeping them is to make them last longer. Enough for us, to look back at them years from now, with images of the place or faces of the people we are with still vivid or at least clear. Having them this way makes the memories in our minds also clear and intact.

Photos are most important to remind people of their wedding day. For some, when done with the right reasons, this marks as one of their happiest days in their lives. It is full of special moments and symbolism. Not only will it mark as the beginning of your lives together with the person you love but it also marks the start of a new family. Despite the happy hours and as the day will event, the only thing that will remain clear in you is your memories. As days add up, these memories also fade. However, because of your wedding photography, you will have something to make everything that had happened on that day more alive.

That is why any person should know how to keep these photos long lasting. We will never know what will happen at the end of the day, and if we are not careful with how we store them, you might loose them or the worst it may be destroyed. For you to make them last for a long time here are some tips that you can apply when it comes to safekeeping photos:

• Albums- Some of us love to stack photos in boxes. This is not a bad thing to do. However, it is an advantage for you keep them in albums because you will have all you need in storing them. One, they have plastics that can protect your pictures from possible spillage. Two, albums are like notebooks with covers that will keep your pictures from getting folded. Three, you can have the photos kept sequentially.

• Store them in Pc- All your photos can be scanned. Therefore, if you do not want them to fade and if you want to have them recopied easily, keep them on your computer. Besides, you can make them as your wallpaper or use it as your screensavers too.

• Store in Removable device- You will never know when your computer will shutdown or get wiped out for defects. Therefore, you will always need a back up copy to keep these photos. Have them burned on CDs or flash disks in order to keep a backup. This way, all the money you paid for your wedding photography will not be put into waste.

• Upload on websites- There are now free online albums that allows you to safe keep your photos. Some of them are free services. Therefore, take advantage of it and store it in there. This will also make these photos accessible in all computers and all parts of the world just as long as there is internet.

Summary

Important pictures particularly wedding photos are things that we want to preserve. They make your wedding memories last forever and even more vivid. Therefore, take these simple tips to safeguard them at all times.

Bridesmaid Bible: Knowing the Essentials of the Bridesmaid Role and Bridesmaid Dresses

    By Sarrah Beaumont

istock_000007945275xsmallThe role of the bridesmaid has evolved through the years. In the olden times, their responsibilities could go to the extremes, of fending off evil spirits that are present during the wedding. These ill-mannered spirits are said to be administering hexes on the couple. Today, bridesmaid roles no longer have to turn into such a life-threatening twist. They simply have to don on their bridesmaid dresses and bear witness to the ceremony.

    Know what’s expected of you

To become the best bridesmaid, you must know the nitty-gritty of your role. The couple did not spend money on bridesmaid dresses just so you can stand there and do nothing. If nobody has oriented you of your exact role yet, then ask around. Ask your friends or research the Internet perhaps.

Your usual roles include witnessing the ceremony, helping the bride on some minor errands and providing her with whatever support that she needs. While the maid of honor normally does all these stuff, it doesn’t hurt to give out a hand. After all, these are what your bridesmaid dresses are for.

    Dress for the Occasion

There are times when the couple is really out of budget. When you happen to be chosen as one of their bridesmaids, have the heart to spend a little. You can even take it upon yourself to personally spend for your bridesmaid dress. There are a number of inexpensive bridesmaid dresses that you can choose from.

So that your pocket would not feel the pressure, why don’t you choose a dress that can be used for other dressy occasions? This way, you are hitting two birds with one stone. Of course, being a bridesmaid, you have an excuse to buy a new dress! Just remember to keep it simple though. Go with the wedding motif and try not to be out of place.

    Accessorize

Simple bridesmaid dresses can be made more appealing and more fabulous if you take on your creative hat and use accessories. If the couple can provide you with the said accessories, the better. Otherwise, you can always shop for inexpensive bridesmaid jewelry. There are also various online bridal shops that cater to this kind of product.

    Do your part

There’s nothing more responsible — and more gratifying to the couple — than by keeping your end of the bargain. As they have provided the bridesmaid dresses, then it’s on you to carry out the role. Usher the guests, provide customer service and take care of the tiny little tasks that need immediate attention. While these responsibilities would be very minute, still, you are taking some weight off the bride’s shoulders.

Being a bridesmaid is no ordinary role. Some people get anxious walking down the aisle with a lot of watchful eyes on them. The pressure becomes more pronounced because they are wearing bridesmaid dresses and wearing high heels.

Therefore, to appease yourself, it’s important that you know what’s expected of you when you take on that role. This is perhaps the best way that you can repay the couple for spending on those fabulous bridesmaid dresses.

Best Man Speeches – How to Master the Art of Wedding Speeches

    By Ted Davidsen

So your best buddy just asked you to be his best man on his wedding day. No big deal. You get your tux ready, your shoes your slick hair and the perfect cologne to attract all the single ladies at the reception. Then you are good to go!

No wait, you just hit your forehead with the palm of your hand remembering that the best man just doesn’t party hard during the bachelor party, stand behind the groom during the ceremony and get wasted on the wedding reception but he has to make a speech. That’s right, “The Best Man’s Speech”, the kind of speech that not everyone is too eager to make.

Since not all guys have the guts or the ability to make good and memorable speeches in front of people, this usually translates to jittery knees, sweaty palms and for the really weak of heart, alcohol intoxication; enough for them to find guts to say something without remembering that dreadful night.

Best man speeches don’t really have to be this way if you know the right trick. You can save yourself the anxiety or the embarrassment if you know the dos and dont’s of delivering a great speech.

No need to panic when this situation arises. Calm yourself and gather your thoughts. It is not really as difficult as eating a wedding cake that tastes like paper. Trust me; you don’t have to take endless trips to the open bar before you make your speech. It is about full preparation of what you need to say about the bride and groom.

You should already know the groom pretty well. But if the bride isn’t really close to you, take some time to know some things about her before the wedding. Think about how you want the audience to respond. It’s either you want to crack them up or just keep it serious without sounding cheesy or disrespectful. And you also need to think about what you want to wish the newlyweds for their future.

It is best to write your thoughts down so you will not forget the highlights of your speech. You need not read it directly from the paper while doing your speech to avoid looking like you are making a state of the nation address. You can write down some of your favorite memories with the groom and write down information you’ve learned about the bride too. Prepare a good message that can make the couple feel their closeness to you. This way, they will be very appreciative of it. End your speech in an upbeat manner making you ready to make a toast.

It is not necessary to write an essay. Keep it short but heart- felt. 5 to 15 minutes is fine enough not to put everyone to sleep or giving them an idea of throwing you the flower vase on their table. Review your speech or share it to someone who can give an honest opinion about it.

Just remember, you are making a speech for someone dear to you and that should not give you any reason to feel nervous. These steps will help you produce a successful speech. Give the newlyweds a speech that they can cherish and for the audience to smile or laugh at. So just relax and enjoy the moment!

Personalizing Your Groomsmen Gifts is in Style

    By Claire Remes

Now that you have settled the date for that one special day, you have already taken care of the minister, the cake, the reception hall, the DJ or the band that you preferred for your audio, settled the number of guests invited and even the speech you are going to give for your bride are already done. Also the never ending dinner party with in laws and wedding rehearsals are already on the go. This time could be a stressful time for the groom since preparation for a wedding could be terribly stressful, especially if there is no one to help. Luckily your childhood friend, your old buddy from college, your office mate and your cousins or who else, but your groomsmen took you for a surprise of a lifetime. Throwing you your bachelor party and helping you with the rest of the preparation of the wedding, giving you that feeling of ease so that you can live through your wedding day.

So, now that your groomsmen has helped you out and contributed in your wedding day and never got tired of showing you your last days of being a single, now is also your time on how they will remember and entirely share the memories given to you by your wedding and for you to prepare their groomsmen gifts. Of course preparing your groomsmen gifts could not be entirely your thing and you might even relay on your bride to do this for you. But who else is better than you who can assess your groomsmen and know what personalities they have to be able to give the right gift.

There are a lot of ways on how to give groomsmen gifts and the very first thing to consider is to think of them individually. It is a little less special if you are going to give them the same gift and give the best man a unique one. It is much better to provide them different personalize groomsmen gifts that they could appreciate and use afterward. Depending on the character of that person, should be the basis of your gifts to them. Some groomsmen gifts are money clips, which almost all men used, traveling bags, cufflinks, watches, poker sets for those poker players, hip flask for the drinkers and lighters for the smokers are just some of those common items most men want.

But the idea of not only giving them those types of gifts should make groomsmen gifts special. Making the items a little bit of you and a little bit of him should add a little more color and making it more unique for your groomsmen. Like if one of your groomsmen, likes to drink and a hip flask would be your gift, adding a personal message for him that he would always remember you by would be good for him. Although in selecting groomsmen gifts should not be part of your wedding stress, rather it should be fun and easy since you have known your groomsmen for such a time.

    Make your own Wedding Bouquet

Make Your Own Wedding Floral Bouquet

    By Tiffany Provost

Wedding day(special photo f/x)Professional wedding flower arrangements are convenient, however the cost is substantial. You will save thousands by making your own bouquets and arrangements – it is becoming a popular wedding trend.

Decide on style. There are many styles of bouquets, choose the style that suits your taste. Before you start working on your bouquet, think about what you want it to look like. The flowers and bouquets in bridal magazines are very inspirational. You could go to a flower store and look through the pile of pictures they have.

You should then choose which flowers you want in your bouquet. Naturally you will hope to have flowers that complement you’re the tones and colors used for the rest of wedding. But bear in mind that the types of flowers that will be available to you at your wedding will depend on the season. Before making your final floral decision, check with your florist about the availability of flowers.

Flower holder. It would probably be easier to hold and arrange a bouquet if you purchase a bouquet holder. Purchase a holder for your bouquet after all of the flowers have been chosen. Plastic is the material used to make these. They most commonly come in white and can be easily found at craft stores. There is a handle for you to hold on to, as well as a cone for the flowers to sit in.

Create the floral arrangement for your marriage ceremony. Set aside a few hours the day before your wedding to put together your bouquet. Sure, you have a lot to do. However, you need to arrange your wedding bouquet when the flowers are at their peak. Begin by collecting ribbons, flowers, and other accessories that you want to put into your wedding bouquet. Soak the green foam (oasis) in the bouquet holder for a few minutes.

After this, it is time to begin putting the flowers in place in the wedding bouquet holder. The first step is to measure each flower against the bouquet holder. This gives the comparison for length measurements. Before inserting a flower into floral foam, trim the stem to the desired length (just around two inches) so the right part of the flower is shown over the foam. Be sure to cut each flower stem at an angle. If it is necessary to remove a flower from your bouquet, you will need to cut the stem again.

Take size into consideration while placing your flowers. You can create a cascading wedding bouquet by arranging the flowers so the shorter ones are on the top and the longer flowers and greenery are on the lower part of the arrangement. You will want your wedding bouquet to look full, not sparse, and appropriately long, so good choices for your bouquet would include ivy or fern. (In addition, these can be easily adjusted to provide the best shape of your bouquet.) Rearrange the flowers until they look perfect. Be sure to hide all the green foam and the bouquet holder.

Hide the handle. After you have finished placing all the flowers in the wedding bouquet, you must wrap up the handle of the holder attractively. Cover every visible part of the handle with a ribbon that compliments your wedding colors. You can make a bow in the front of the wedding bouquet or your can tack the ends at the back so they can’t be seen. Your bouquet will be complete once the ribbon is in place.

    Planning an Outdoor Wedding

    By Shaun Minton

Often times when couples begin to embark up on the journey of planning their weddings they forget many of the key components and items that you need to accomplish a seemless event. Decorating for a wedding is one of the areas that this can really hurt an event. For instance, are you going to be planning an outdoor wedding that will require outdoor wedding decorations? Or are you planning something more along the lines of your typical indoor wedding? Either way it is important to realize that their are some subtle differences in the type of wedding decor that you will need. Outdoor wedding decorations are going to require a little more thought when it comes to decorating for your outdoor wedding. This is typically because when you are dealing with outdoor weddings you have to account for the weather and environment.

Something that many people like to decorate their tables with are disposable camera’s. In addition to adding a touch of decorative appearance, they also provide your guests with the ability to participate in capturing those crazy moments that occur throughout the event. In relations to outdoor wedding decorations though, if you are going to be holding your reception in an environment that you stand to get a little rain in you might want to consider purchasing camera’s that are sturdy enough to handle a little moisture.

Candelabra’s and votives are also important fixtures at all weddings. There are all types of options to go with when looking for the types that you want, but again, with outdoor wedding decorations you are going to need to do a little bit of preparation and research for which ones will fit into your wedding plans. Is the environment that you are holding your event in typically windy? Are there chances that during a certain time of year it is a little more windy that at other times? You will want to choose candelabra’s and votives that are weighty and sturdy enough to handle a good gust of wind.

If you are mindful of all the subtle differences that you will have to consider when looking for outdoor wedding decorations or indoor decorations you are one step ahead of the curve. Good planning can always ensure that you have a more successful ceremony. So if you have all your wedding decoration choices down, you will then want to ensure that you have all of your travel plans down as well. Often times, outdoor weddings are held at locations that are not near your home. If this is the case make sure that you not only are looking for your travel plans, but also make it easier on your wedding party and attendees by giving them some good travel options as well.

So if you are ready to begin planning your outdoor wedding, or indoor for that matter, I encourage you to visit our site below and check out all that their is to offer. You will find all types of resources that help you in all planning stages of your wedding.

Amaze Your Guests With Special and Unique Wedding Favor

    By TM Lung

You will probably want to say thank you to your guests when they attend to your wedding. In fact, one of the ways to do so is to prepare some elegant wedding favors for them. Most experts will advise that it is the way for you to express your gratitude to your guests. As a result, you will have to spend some time to search for the best gifts for them. This is why the wedding favors are always considered one of the most important items in your event.

To this end, you may wonder how you can search for the most suitable wedding favor. It is very true that most brides and grooms do not really know how they should choose them. The baseline here is that you will need to make your guests remember your event. In this article, I will layout some tips for you to choose the best gifts for your guests.

When you are visiting the online shops, you will certainly be able to find a lot of choices. Besides, it is also true that there are tons of online shops which offer various wedding favors. One of your choices will be some edible gifts. To this end, chocolates are very popular choices. In most cases, they will be in the shape of a heart. This will of course make the chocolates more interesting and romantic. When you are considering the packages of the chocolate favor, you should try your best to make the packages elegant and beautiful!

There is no doubt that the above is only one of your options. A lot of other brides and grooms will consider the idea of disposable cameras. However, this may make the gifts a bit more expensive. If you would really stick to the notion of edible wedding favors. You may consider the idea of cookies. As a matter of fact, cookies come with various shapes. If you are going to have a beach wedding, you can order cookies in the shapes of seashells and starfish. On the other hand, if you are going to have a winter event, you can consider the shapes of snowflacks.

You have to think about your wedding theme when you are searching for your wedding favors. It is very important that you should make them to match your theme. This is because you would like to make your event consistent. This will also help to make your guests remember your event better. As a result, you will need to search for Chinese wedding favor if you are going to have a Chinese themed event. In this case, you may consider the idea of chopsticks as the gifts!

Finally, you will need to think about the budget. This is certainly important. If you would like to save money, you may not want to order from the party favor shops. Instead, you will consider the idea of DIY. If you are going for the ideas of cookies or chocolates, you may try to make them yourself so that you can save money on them!

    Speech!… Speech!.. (Groom)

    June 8, 2009 by Admin

    Relax

istock_000002429944xsmallWell its the point in the wedding that you the groom, the proud new husband will probably be dreading, well there is no need at all! I promise, with a little preparation you will be able to convey your  thoughts and gratitude over in a way that is sure to please everybody at the wedding, including your new wife!

You just undertaken the most important vow you will ever promise in your life, no doubt you love your wife dearly and want her, your new in-laws and all your family and friends to know exactly how you are feeling, and how you will always love and be there for her.

You will want to thank all the guests for coming, your father in-law for giving permission for you to marry his daughter perhaps, the mothers for their help maybe… whatever you want to say in your speech, make sure you have planned it properly, you wouldn’t want to miss anybody out would you, or forget what to say when the time comes!

    PPP

So for the groom’s wedding speech the most important piece of advice I can give you is

    ‘Prepare, Plan and Practice’

    An idea which will help you plan out your speech is to split the speech down into managable catagories, for example;

    1. An Icebreaker

    2. Giving thanks to the guests, both sets of parents, your new wife,  for the gifts, the minister, the bridesmaids etc.

    3.  Your feelings on the wedding, how wonderful the day has been.

    4. The bride, your new wife, how beautiful she is, how much you love her.

    5. Your relationship, how you met, your life together, how you will always look after one another.

    6. Closing lines and a toast.

You could also pay your respects to the deceased or absent friends who have not been able to make it on the day.

You should then hand over to the best man. It is best to have the best man deliver his speech last as this is usually the longest speech and will put all the guests in the right mood for enjoying the rest of the day.

    Wedding Stationary Ideas

    June 2, 2009 by Admin

istock_000008719373xsmallChoosing what type of wedding stationary you will use for your dream wedding basically comes down to your budget, time available and the overall feel you want your wedding to have.

Your wedding stationary will be the first thing that your guests see of your wedding theme so it will play an important factor in setting the scene for your dream-wedding-day. If you are not so restricted by budget or time then you can get everthing professionally printed, which would mean the printing company will print everything you ask them to, onto their wedding stationary designs which you have selected.

If you are having a smaller wedding and have time to handwrite pre-printed invitations then there are literally thousands of designs available, this is a good middle ground and you won’t end up spending a fortune. You could also learn the art of calligraphy which would give your wedding invitations a professional whilst personal feel.

Another nice idea which is happening more and more lately is creating your own wedding stationary from scratch, this also enables you to completely personalize all of the stationary so that it complements the theme and style of your wedding. Not such a good idea for larger weddings, unless you are preparing everything well in advance, you don’t want to run out of time with only half of the invites completed!
