Well its the point in the wedding that you the groom, the proud new husband will probably be dreading, well there is no need at all! I promise, with a little preparation you will be able to convey your thoughts and gratitude over in a way that is sure to please everybody at the wedding, including your new wife!
You just undertaken the most important vow you will ever promise in your life, no doubt you love your wife dearly and want her, your new in-laws and all your family and friends to know exactly how you are feeling, and how you will always love and be there for her.
You will want to thank all the guests for coming, your father in-law for giving permission for you to marry his daughter perhaps, the mothers for their help maybe… whatever you want to say in your speech, make sure you have planned it properly, you wouldn’t want to miss anybody out would you, or forget what to say when the time comes!

So for the groom’s wedding speech the most important piece of advice I can give you is
‘Prepare, Plan and Practice’
An idea which will help you plan out your speech is to split the speech down into managable catagories, for example;
1. An Icebreaker
2. Giving thanks to the guests, both sets of parents, your new wife, for the gifts, the minister, the bridesmaids etc.
3. Your feelings on the wedding, how wonderful the day has been.
4. The bride, your new wife, how beautiful she is, how much you love her.
5. Your relationship, how you met, your life together, how you will always look after one another.
6. Closing lines and a toast.
You could also pay your respects to the deceased or absent friends who have not been able to make it on the day.
You should then hand over to the best man. It is best to have the best man deliver his speech last as this is usually the longest speech and will put all the guests in the right mood for enjoying the rest of the day.
